2019 has been a year of breakthrough for your Crossroads student outreach. Your support, service, and prayers have contributed to powerful testimonies of salvation, rededications and discipleship of students to Christ. We have seen many real disciples raised up. Not only are students being radically saved but they are also being mentored ‘discipled’ at a high level and being added to local churches in a new way. Matthew 28:19 is a reality, “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.” God has moved powerfully in 2019 through the weekly clubs and three discipleship events: ‘Discipleship Leaders’ Event’ (2/23/19), ‘Youth Encounter Night’ (3/15/19) and ‘Awaken Montgomery’ (4/7/19). See below for more information concerning the clubs and these three events.
In your CLUBS in 2019, students’ lives are being transformed by God’s powerful gospel (Romans 1:16). Student Story #1: A student shared how he has felt close to God at whole new level and through this student’s prayers, God has been transforming his family. #2: Another student shared that he has been enjoying reading the Word of God (the book of Ephesians and the book of John) He also is becoming a real disciple. #3: After club one day, a student boldly asked how she can be saved and prayed to receive Christ as her Lord and Savior. We have seen well over 100 students praying a prayer to receive Christ during the course of the semester in the clubs, but not that often do students ask a staff or volunteer ‘how can I be saved?’ (Acts 16:30). #4: Also, another student was cutting herself and wanted to commit suicide but through rededicating herself to Christ, counseling and prayer has been set free.
God’s Word is powerful! So many student’s have been saved and have changed their lifestyles this past semester. Your support, service and prayers are so powerful.
What follows is a quick summary of three discipleship events during the Spring Semester 2019: ‘Discipleship Leaders’ Event’, ‘Youth Encounter Night’ and ‘Awaken Montgomery.’
At the ‘Discipleship Event’ (February 23rd), ( pictured above) One student dedicated his life to Christ and received inner healing from past trauma. He shared four days later that he had been praying and reading the Word of God consistently since that encounter. He said he was a changed person ‘born again’. This is what the student said about his experience: “I really got to know God; it changed my life. I saw so many things that I have never seen before. After we left, I realized what the real definition was of how to know God better. It made me change my life around.” Also, one of the students felt her depression and suicidal thoughts leave as she entered the event and she was healed from her cutting scars by the end. At the end of the night, all the students were changed dramatically and often could not put their experience in to words. However, the students exclaimed they felt called to step up as leaders, fell in love with Father God, and all want to be closer to God. It was an unforgettable experience.
YOUTH ENCOUNTER EVENT
The ‘Youth Encounter’ (March 15th) was another powerful event in Montgomery. Many students were saved and impacted by God forever. A student was rocked by a powerful encounter with Christ. He saw Jesus in front of him standing with powerful loving eyes and arms open wide. He wept for almost an hour at the end of the service. He has a powerful call of God on his life and was elected to become a drum major for his high school. All twelve leadership students who went from area schools either got saved or rededicated their lives to Christ. The message proclaimed to the youth was to sell out to Christ and His Word with all their hearts and lives. The Youth Encounter greatly impacted the student leaders who attended.
AWAKEN EVENT
‘Awaken Montgomery’ (April 7th) brought the people of Montgomery together in church unity and powerful prayer at Riverwalk Stadium. The presence of God was tangible. Around ten people dedicated their lives to Christ for the first time! All 12 leadership students who attended this event were impacted.
This year has been amazing so far and we are excited to see what God has in store for the rest of 2019. We are planning events for the next few months and we would greatly appreciate your prayers for a possible summer camp, summer clubs and a large Fall outreach 2019. We are finalizing a plan now for a summer camp. This would be for Montgomery city students and Montgomery church youth groups. We are also preparing for an outreach in the Fall of 2019 with a hand-picked team of powerful servants of Christ who will help us see many students ‘born again’, delivered and plugged into local churches with their families. Finally, we are declaring fully funded staff in Atlanta and Montgomery.
We are so thankful for your support, service and prayers as we continue into 2019. With out you, none of this would be possible.
